Extended Cities is an interdisciplinary artistic residency project that explores the relationship between countries and cities, focusing on themes related to their history, literature, and memory, centering on the theme of construction and destruction.”Extended Cities: Khartoum – Port Sudan – Cairo” focuses on the intersections of these three cities exploring, from a visual and artistic perspective, the renarration of Khartoum in the cities of Port Sudan and Cairo following the displacement after the war in April 2023 and the subsequent social and economic transformations that affected the city’s space.

Extended Cities: Khartoum – Port Sudan – Cairo Residency Project was developed with contributions from researchers and writers Hassan Al-Nasser and Sara Hagalhassan.

The project was managed and curated by Reem Aljeally, with coordination by Marwan Mohamed Hamza, who also handled revision. The editing was conducted by Sara Hagalhassan, and translation by Modathir Abdelgadir. Communications and media were managed by Ghassan Jaafar, while design was carried out by Mozaffar Ramadan.

Participating resident artists included Siddig AlHadi, Rawan Abbas, Kamal Hashim, Suzan Ibrahim, Mohammed Ohaj, and Tahir Khalid.
