ARCHIVES IN/FOR THE FUTURE

Workshop part of The Research Room at The Diriyah Biennale, Riyadh

April 11, 2026

As part of The Diriyah Biennale in Riyadh, 2026, and presented within this year’s The Research Room, titled “TimeKeepers: The Archive in Flux“, this workshop invites participants to reflect on how archives are formed, lost, and reimagined by creating a personal archive through collage, model-making, and poster design.

Led by The Muse Multi Studios, the session takes inspiration from artists, exploring how they often become accidental archivists, responding to gaps, erasures, and moments of transition.

Participants will create a future-oriented archive, imagining how archives might move, adapt, and endure across changing geographies and moments of crisis. Framed by the Biennale’s theme “In Interludes and Transitions“, the workshop approaches the archive as a living, adaptable practice rather than a fixed record.

What will you learn?
Participants will create their own archive model using collage, model-building, and poster-making.

Who is it for?
This workshop is for artists interested in collage.
